Police investigate two cannabis store robberies in northwest Calgary

Our Robbery Unit is investigating two separate incidents involving armed robberies that occurred at cannabis stores located in the city’s northwest earlier this month. Investigators are now looking to speak to anyone who may have information in relation to the incidents.

The first robbery took place on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025, at approximately noon, when two male suspects, believed to be teens, entered Tower Cannabis, located at 159 Carrington Plaza N.W.

It is believed the suspects entered the store wearing face coverings and assaulted the employee while threatening him with a firearm. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of product from the shop and fled the area in an unknown vehicle.

The second robbery occurred on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025, at approximately 5:10 p.m., at Canna Cabana, located at 101 Sage Valley Common N.W.

It is believed five male teens entered the store wearing face coverings, two of whom were armed with handguns. The teens threatened an employee and a lone customer in the store with the firearms.

The suspects forced the employee to open the till, and fled with an unknown amount of cash and cannabis products in a vehicle described as a red SUV.

Witnesses described the suspects in the second incident as tall males with dark skin tones. All were wearing face coverings and gloves at the time of the incident.  

At this time, investigators are working to determine if the two incidents are connected.

We are asking anyone who may have witnessed the robberies, who may have dashcam footage from the area where the incidents occurred or who knows the identity of the suspects, to come forward to police in hopes of advancing the investigation.
