Police investigate suspicious death in downtown highrise

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is currently on scene investigating a suspicious death in a downtown highrise.

Just after 1 p.m., on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, police responded to a request for assistance from EMS in the 1400 block of First Street S.E., for an unresponsive woman. The woman was declared deceased within the residence and this death is being investigated as suspicious. The cause and manner of death remain under investigation.

Further details about the deceased will not be released until an autopsy and next of kin notifications are complete. An autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday, March 30, 2023.
