Police investigate suspicious death downtown

Our Homicide Unit is investigating following the death of a man at a downtown apartment building yesterday.

At approximately 8 a.m., yesterday, Thursday, March 13, 2025, we were called to the 900 block of Seventh Avenue S.W. for reports of a man in medical distress. The man was transported to the hospital in life-threatening condition.

Today, Friday, March 14, 2025, the man succumbed to the injuries.

After reviewing CCTV footage in the building, one person has been taken into custody in relation to the circumstances surrounding this death.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on Monday, March 17, 2025.
