Police investigate suspicious death

We are investigating the death of a male that occurred early Wednesday morning. 

Police were called for reports of gunshots and that a man was injured as a result of a shooting at approximately 12:30 a.m., in the 7000 block of 20 Street S.E. Upon arrival, police located the victim outside of his vehicle, deceased. Police located a vehicle believed to be connected to the shooting abandoned a short time later and have taken one person into custody. 

Police then received a suspicious persons call from a resident in Palliser. As a result, two more people were taken into custody. Their involvement in the shooting is yet to be confirmed.  

It is believed that this was a targeted shooting, however, a specific motive is yet to be determined as the investigation is in the early stages. 

An autopsy will be conducted on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025. 

Traffic may be disrupted in the area of the shooting this morning as the investigation is carried out.  Ogden Elementary School, also known as Almadina Language Charter Academy, will also be closed for the day because of its proximity to the scene.
