Police investigate suspicious death - Cranston

Our Homicide Unit is investigating the suspicious death of a woman in the city’s southeast.

At approximately 2:50 p.m., today, Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, we were called to the 500 block of Cranston Drive S.E., for reports of a medical event. Upon arrival, officers found a woman in a parked vehicle who appeared to be unconscious and unresponsive. EMS were also on scene and pronounced the woman deceased.

Our investigators are working to identify the woman and notify next of kin.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, at 9 a.m., at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The investigation is ongoing, and more details will be provided when available.
