Police investigate single-vehicle collision in the southeast

We continue to investigate a single-vehicle collision that occurred yesterday evening after a vehicle veered off the road in the southeast, and we are asking witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact police.

At approximately 9 p.m., on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2023, we were called to the intersection of 114 Avenue S.E. and 84 Street S.E., for reports of a single-vehicle collision.

At the time, it is believed a 2017 Chevrolet Spark, operated by a 91-year-old man, was travelling east on 114 Avenue S.E.

The vehicle continued straight towards 84 Street S.E., where the vehicle approached a T-intersection and subsequently veered off the road.  

The man was transported to hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

The man later died in hospital. At this time, police continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the man’s death.

Drugs or alcohol are not considered to be factors in this collision.
