Police investigate shooting incident in Forest Lawn

We are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the southeast community of Forest Lawn.

At approximately 5 a.m. today, June 23, 2023, we were called to the area of 17 Avenue S.E. and 43 Street S.E. for reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, police found one man suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital, but died as a result of his injuries.

The Calgary Police Service’s Homicide Unit is now investigating and are currently on scene. We’re asking everyone to avoid the area.
