Police investigate shooting in Nolan Hill
We are asking for the public to come forward with information following an organized-crime-related shooting in northwest Calgary.
On Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., we were called for reports that two men had been shot in the 200 block of Nolan Hill Drive N.W. The men transported themselves to hospital prior to police arrival and the suspects fled in a white Mazda SUV.
It is believed this was a planned and targeted shooting and the offenders were waiting for the victims to arrive at the location prior to the incident. Investigators are still working to determine suspect descriptions.
A short time after the shooting, police located the white Mazda on fire north of the city limits, in the area of Highway 566 and Panorama Road. Investigators from our Arson Team and Forensic Crime Scenes Unit continue to process evidence collected from this scene.
“While we are still in the very early hours of this investigation, we believe there are witnesses and people with information who have not yet spoken with police,” says Staff Sergeant Ben Lawson of the CPS Organized Crime Operations Unit. “In investigations like this, we rely on community support to help us progress investigations, hold offenders accountable and ensure that our communities remain safe for everyone.”
Anyone with CCTV footage from the area or who may have information about suspicious activity related to this incident is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
