Police investigate serious-injury, single-vehicle collision

Our Traffic Section continues to investigate a collision that resulted in a man sustaining life-threatening injuries on the weekend.

On Saturday, June 21, 2025, at approximately 3:18 p.m., it is believed a white 2017 Ram pick up truck, operated by a 31-year-old man, was travelling southbound on Stoney Trail S.E. approaching the 88 St. S.E. exit, when the truck left the roadway heading west. The truck went through a barbed wire fence, heading toward a pedestrian pathway. The truck travelled onto the pathway for a short distance before striking a power pole and coming to a rest.

The driver, and sole occupant of the truck, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

There were no pedestrians on the pathway at the time of the incident.

Speed, alcohol and drugs are all believed to be factors in this collision.

Charges are pending against the driver.
