Police investigate serious-injury motorcycle collision

Our Traffic Section is currently investigating a motorcycle collision that occurred overnight in the city’s southeast, leaving one man in life-threating condition.

At approximately 12:47 a.m., on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, a single-motorcycle collision occurred along the on-ramp from eastbound Stoney Trail S.E. onto northbound Deerfoot Trail S.E.

At that time, it is believed a black 2009 Harley-Davidson FXDB, driven by a 39-year-old man, was travelling east on the Stoney Trail on-ramp heading towards northbound Deerfoot Trail S.E., when it veered into the travel lanes of a second on-ramp from Cranston Boulevard S.E.

As the motorcycle entered the travel lanes of the second-on ramp, it began to slide on its side, dislodging the rider before striking a guardrail.

The rider suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition.

At this time, drugs and alcohol are not considered to be factors in this collision. Police are investigating whether excessive speed was a factor in this collision.
