Police investigate serious-injury collision on 17 Avenue S.W.

Our Traffic Section continues to investigate a serious-injury collision that left a pedestrian in life-threatening condition on Wednesday night.

At approximately 10:10 p.m., on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, it is believed a 2012 Ford F150, driven by a 23-year-old man, was travelling eastbound in the left lane on 17 Avenue S.W., near Fifth Street S.W.

At that same time, it is believed an 18-year-old man was walking southbound across 17 Avenue S.W., near Fifth Street S.W., when he entered into the path of truck and was struck.

The pedestrian was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition.

The driver of the Ford remained at the scene and was not injured.

Excessive speed, drugs, or alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors on the part of the driver.
