Police investigate serious collision on Glenmore Trail

The Calgary Police Service is investigating a serious collision that occurred yesterday on Glenmore Trail.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 26, 2019, a two-vehicle collision occurred in the 4300 block of Glenmore Trail S.W. At the time of the collision, a pickup truck was travelling eastbound on Glenmore Trail in a construction zone when it was struck head on by a car that had crossed over the centre dividing line.

The driver of the car, a 20-year-old woman, and a passenger of the pickup truck, a 20-year-old woman, were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck, a man in his 40s, and two female passengers, a woman in her 40s and a teenaged girl, were all transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol on behalf of the driver of the car is being investigated as a factor in this collision and the investigation is ongoing.
