Police investigate pedestrian collision

Our Traffic Section continues to investigate after a collision in a southwest parking lot left a woman with serious injuries.

At approximately 10:20 a.m., today, Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2024, a serious-injury collision occurred between a car and a pedestrian in the Sobeys parking lot located at 555 Strathcona Blvd. S.W.

At the time, it is believed a 2007 Honda Civic operated by a woman in her 50s was travelling south in the parking lot near the front entrance of the grocery store, when the driver made a sharp left turn into a laneway, striking a woman in her 90s.

The pedestrian suffered life-altering injuries and was transported to hospital.

The driver was uninjured and remained at the scene.

Neither alcohol, speed or drugs are believed to be factors in this collision.
