Police investigate pedestrian collision in the city’s northwest

We continue to investigate a pedestrian collision that occurred last night on 16 Avenue N.W.

Yesterday, Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, at approximately 8:15 p.m., a collision occurred at the intersection of 16 Avenue and 12 Street N.W., involving a minivan and a pedestrian.

At the time of the incident, it is believed a 53-year-old man was walking southbound across 16 Avenue, in the crosswalk when he was struck by a Toyota Sienna.

As a result, the man sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital. He has since been upgraded to stable condition.

The driver of the Toyota Sienna, a 39-year-old man, was not injured and remained at the scene.

Speed and alcohol are not considered to be factors in this collision.
