Police investigate pedestrian collision downtown

Our Traffic Section continues to investigate a collision that occurred downtown yesterday evening.

On Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023, at approximately 7:35 p.m., we were called to the area of Fifth Avenue and Third Street S.E., for reports of a collision involving a pedestrian.

At the time, a man was crossing Fifth Avenue S.E., when he entered the path of a Honda Accord being operated by a 44-year-old man.

The pedestrian was subsequently struck by the Honda, sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

The driver of the Honda was not injured and remained on scene.

Speed, alcohol, or drugs are not considered to be factors in this collision.
