Police investigate motorcycle collision in the city’s southeast

We continue to investigate a collision involving a motorcycle that occurred earlier today, leaving one man with life-threatening injuries.

On Monday, Oct. 3, 2022, at approximately 6:50 a.m., we responded to reports of a collision that occurred in the intersection of Barlow Trail and 76 Avenue S.E.

It is believed a motorcycle was travelling in the right, northbound lane of Barlow Trail S.E., approaching the intersection at 76 Avenue S.E.

At the same time, an SUV was travelling south on Barlow Trail S.E., and as it turned left onto 76 Avenue S.E. to head east, it turned into the path of the motorcycle.

The motorcycle struck the front of the SUV. As a result, the operator of the motorcycle, a man in his late 20s, suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

The driver of the SUV, a male teen, was not injured and remained on scene.

Speed or alcohol are not considered to be factors in this collision.
