Police investigate fatal single-vehicle collision in the southeast

We continue to investigate a single-vehicle collision that led to the death of a woman yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023, we were called to the Deerfoot Trail, Anderson Road and Bow Bottom Trail S.E. interchange for reports of a collision.

At the time, a 2007 Infiniti G35, operated by a 29-year-old woman, was travelling north on the Deerfoot Trail S.E. ramp from the Anderson Road and Bow Bottom Trail S.E. interchange, approaching the exit for Southland Drive S.E.

The interchange curved to the right and it is believed the Infiniti lost control near the exit of the interchange and mounted the curb.

The Infiniti subsequently went off-road and struck a concrete support beam.

The impact was fatal and the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in this collision.
