Police investigate fatal motorcycle collision along Memorial Drive

At approximately 2 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023, a motorcycle collision occurred on eastbound Memorial Drive N.W., approaching the Centre Street Bridge.

At the time, a semi-truck and trailer, operated by a 39-year-old man, was stationary in the right lane along Memorial Drive N.W., when a green 2011 Kawasaki EX400 motorcycle, driven by a 20-year-old man, collided with the rear of the trailer.

The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the semi-truck was not injured in the collision.

Excessive speed is believed to be a factor in this collision. Alcohol or drugs are not considered to be factors in this collision.
