Police investigate fatal hit-and-run collision in Horizon
We are asking for the public’s help to locate a vehicle of interest believed to be involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision that resulted in the death of a pedestrian this morning in the northeast community of Horizon.
At approximately 1:25 a.m. today, Friday, July 21, 2023, it is believed a woman was walking northbound in the 3800 block of 34 Street N.E., when she was struck and killed by a vehicle.
The vehicle, believed to be a dark-coloured 2008 to 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan, did not remain at the scene. It is believed the vehicle fled northbound towards 39 Avenue N.E. and originally turned east, before turning around and travelling west.
Investigators are looking for the vehicle, which will have noticeable front-end damage as a result of the collision.
