We continue to investigate a collision that resulted in the death of a man earlier this morning.

Today, Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, at approximately 8:25 a.m., we were called for reports of a collision on the Memorial Drive overpass crossing Deerfoot Trail N.E.

At the time, a silver 2000 Chrysler Intrepid, operated by a 48-year-old man, entered the path of an eastbound CTrain operated by a 70-year-old man.

The driver was extricated from the vehicle and transported to hospital where he was declared deceased.

The operator of the CTrain was uninjured.

Speed or impairment are not considered to be factors in this collision.
