Police investigate fatal collision in city’s southeast
Last weekend, our Traffic Section responded to reports of a serious-injury collision that resulted in an 83-year-old pedestrian being transported to hospital.
At approximately 2:15 p.m., on Sunday, July 20, 2025, a pedestrian collision occurred at the intersection of 31 St. and 17 Ave. S.E.
At that time, it is believed a 2012 Ford F150 was in the northbound lanes of 31 St. S.E., waiting to turn right onto 17 Ave. S.E.
At the same time, an 83-year-old woman was crossing 31 St. S.E., heading eastbound.
After the traffic signal turned green, the truck proceeded to turn. It is believed the woman entered into the path of the truck and was struck.
The woman was transported to hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the Ford was uninjured and remained at the scene.
Neither speed, alcohol, nor drugs are considered to be factors in this collision.
