Police investigate fatal assault in Woodlands

Our Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal assault in the southwest community of Woodlands.

Today, Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at approximately 5:40 a.m., officers responded to reports of an assault in the 2100 block of Woodview Drive S.W. Investigators believe a person was injured during the assault and later succumbed to their injuries.

At this time, investigators do not believe the incident was random.

Road closures are in effect as our Homicide Unit continues its investigation. Woodview Drive is closed between Woodhill Court and Woodhill Blvd., S.W.

Access to the strip mall, located at 523 Woodpark Blvd. S.W. has also been shut down. Businesses in the area may be affected.

 The investigation is ongoing and more details will be shared when they are available.
