Police investigate fatal assault in Inglewood
We are currently investigating a fatal altercation that occurred in the southeast community of Inglewood this afternoon.
At approximately 1:35 p.m., today, Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, police were called to the 1000 block of 9 Avenue S.E., for reports that a man had been assaulted.
Upon arrival, first responders located a man who appeared to be suffering from life-threatening injuries. The man was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition where he later succumbed to his injuries.
As a result, the Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is now investigating and are looking to locate a man believed to be responsible for this incident.
Investigators are currently on scene and we are asking everyone to avoid the area.
An autopsy will be scheduled for early next week.
If the incident is later determined to be a homicide, this will be the 21st homicide in Calgary this year.
