Police investigate early morning shooting in Saddle Ridge

We continue to investigate a shooting that occurred this morning in the northeast community of Saddle Ridge.

At approximately 5:45 a.m., today, Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, we responded to reports of a shooting in the 0 to 100 block of Saddlelake Green N.E.

Upon arrival, police located a man and a woman both suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

It is believed the man and woman were exiting their residence and entering a vehicle when a suspect approached the victims and fired several shots.

The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle described as a dark-coloured SUV.

Both victims were transported to hospital in critical condition, but have since been upgraded to stable.

Immediately following the incident, investigators reviewed CCTV footage of the area and spoke to witnesses, however, we continue to ask individuals who may have information about this incident to come forward.

This is believed to be a targeted incident and there is no risk to the public.
