Police investigate break and enter resulting in missing pet

We are currently investigating a break and enter that occurred in the northwest community of Thorncliffe and resulted in the disappearance of a dog.

On Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, police were called to the 100 block of 59 Avenue N.W., for reports of a residential break and enter. 

It is believed sometime between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., a suspect or suspects forcefully entered a home, and as a result, the household dog, King, was reported missing from the residence.

King is described as a St. Bernard and Mastiff mix, with brown/red-coloured long fur, and weighs approximately 75 pounds.

At this time, it is unknown if any other items were removed from the home.
