The Calgary Police Service continues to investigate a homicide that occurred in the northwest community of Hamptons in May.

At approximately 3 a.m., on Sunday, May 12, 2019, police were called to a residence in the 100 block of Hampstead Close N.W., after a man was found deceased inside the home.

Evidence at the scene led investigators to believe this was a targeted homicide. Investigators now believe the homicide was also drug related and connected to other shootings that have occurred in our city.

The CPS Forensic Crime Scenes Unit has gathered evidence that is aiding investigators in identifying the suspects. In addition, members of the community have come forward and provided information to police which has assisted in moving this case forward.

Investigators are now releasing footage to further assist in identifying the suspects.

CCTV footage shows five individuals arriving in a smaller, four door SUV, believed to be a 2008-2010 Nissan Rogue. Four unknown suspects then exited the SUV and entered the victim’s residence where it is believed an altercation occurred, resulting in the death of the victim. A short time later, the suspects were captured on CCTV leaving the area in the same four door SUV they arrived in, driven by a fifth suspect.

CCTV footage of the suspects will be made available on The City of Calgary Newsroom. Please note that the footage has been edited to expedite the images of the suspects.

CCTV shows that while the suspects were in the area on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at approximately 10:30 p.m., other vehicles were seen entering the community and it is believed someone may have seen the offenders at the victim’s residence.
