Police concerned for wellbeing of man wanted on warrants

The Calgary Police Service is asking for help to locate a man wanted on warrants in connection with domestic offences as investigators are concerned for both his welfare and the safety of his domestic partner.

Junius Omarr GOLAR, 37, of Calgary, is wanted on warrants for two counts of assault, one count of uttering threats, and two counts of failing to comply with a court order.

The warrants are connected to a violent domestic conflict that occurred on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017. It is alleged that GOLAR was involved in the incident and investigators believe he sustained an injury that would have required medical attention.

GOLAR spoke to police by phone immediately after the incident, but neither police nor his family have been able to contact or locate him since. Given his injury and other circumstances around the incident, investigators are concerned for his welfare and need to locate him to ensure both the safety of him and the victim in the incident.

Anyone with information on GOLAR’s whereabouts is asked to contact the police non-emergency number at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be left anonymously by contacting Crime Stoppers through either of the following methods:

TALK: 1-800-222-8477

Due to the domestic nature of this incident, no further information can be released to protect the privacy of the victim.
