Police charge three individuals; seize $1.3 million worth of drugs in trafficking investigation
We have charged two men and a woman and seized approximately $1.3 million worth of drugs, preventing them from reaching Calgary’s streets.
In October 2024, our officers were made aware of several individuals who were believed to be conducting activity consistent with drug trafficking.
Our District 4 Operations Team quickly launched an investigation and identified multiple residences and vehicles believed to be associated to the suspects.
On Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, with the help of several units from across the Service, search warrants were executed for the following residences and vehicles:
- A residence located in the 1400 block of First Street S.E.
- A residence located in the 1200 block of 11 Avenue S.W.
- A residence located in the 900 block of 31 Avenue N.W.
- A black 2018 Acura ILX
- A black 2016 Mercedes Benz CLS 550
- A white 2015 Mercedes Benz ML 63 AMG
Following the searches, several drugs were seized including:
- Approximately 13 kilograms of suspected cocaine
- Approximately 268 grams of suspected methamphetamine
- Approximately 150 grams of suspected crack cocaine
- Approximately 26 grams of suspected Fentanyl
- Packaging, cookware, scales and dye consistent with the production of drugs

Based on the evidence located, two men and a woman were charged in relation to this investigation.
Leslie Babajid COLE, 33, of Calgary, is charged with two counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking and four counts of failure to comply with a release order.
He will next appear in court on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025.
Ahmed Merhi CHEHADI, 32, of Calgary, is charged with three counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking and 11 counts of failure to comply with a release order.
He will next appear in court on Friday, Jan. 10, 2025.
Tracy Leanne SUFFESICK, 40, of Calgary, is charged with one count of trafficking a controlled substance, three counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking and two counts of possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order.
She will next appear in court on Friday, Jan. 10, 2025.
“Our officers located and seized a significant quantity of drugs during this investigation,” says Staff Sgt. Keith Shufelt of the Calgary Police Service District 4 General Investigations Unit. “These are extremely dangerous substances that were removed from the community and thanks to the work of our officers in the District 4 Operations Team, those who were believed to be trafficking drugs have been held accountable for their actions.”
