Police charge man with package theft

The Calgary Police Service charged a man in relation to the theft of a number of packages from a front step that occurred last week in the community of Coventry Hills.

On Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at approximately 10:45 a.m., a man was captured on CCTV taking a number of parcels from the front step of a home located in the 200 block of Covebrook Place N.E.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, a woman contacted police after observing a man in the community of Coventry Hills she believed matched the description of a man responsible for the package thefts that had occurred the previous week on Covebrook Place N.E.

Police arrived and located the man walking through an alley in the 300 block of Coventry Road N.E., where he was taken into custody.

David BRUNELLE, 27, was charged with one count of theft under $5,000. He is next scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2017.
