Police charge man with offence against a child

The Calgary Police Service Child Abuse Unit has charged a man following an incident at a private piano lesson.

On Friday, March 2, 2018, the mother of a five-year-old girl contacted police after her daughter had described that her piano teacher had allegedly shown her pornographic videos while conducting a private lesson at the family’s northwest home. The incident is believed to have occurred in February 2018.

Darrin Colby HOGUE, 33, has been charged with one count of making sexually explicit material available to children, and one count of possession of obscene material for the purpose of publication. He will next appear in court on Thursday, April 12, 2018.
