Police charge man, seize multiple guns and ammunition
We have charged a man and seized multiple firearms and ammunition in relation to an investigation involving a suspect who was wanted on several warrants.
In May 2025, our Gun Violence Enforcement Team (GVET) launched an investigation aimed at locating and arresting a man who was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants and was known to be unlawfully in possession of several firearms.
As the investigation progressed, in August 2025, police successfully located and arrested the suspect.
At the time of his arrest, the following was seized:
· Approximately 11.6 grams of crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $1,100
· Approximately $1,460 in Canadian currency
· Two cellphones
In addition, a search warrant was executed at a residence associated to the suspect located in the 15000 block of First Street S.E., and the following was seized:
· A pink 3D-printed .22-calibre handgun
· A black 3D-printed .22-calibre handgun
· A replica airsoft rifle
· Multiple 3D-printed firearm parts
· 474 morphine pills with an estimated street value of $4,740
· 238 rounds of .22-calibre ammunition
· 620 rounds of 7.62 ammunition
As a result, Carl James SCHUYLER, 41, of Calgary, was charged with:
· One count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
· One count of possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000
· Four counts of breach of a release order
· Several outstanding warrants
He will next appear in court on Friday, Sept. 5, 2025.
