Police charge man in child pornography investigation
One man has been charged with possessing and accessing child pornography following a complaint from a local technology repair company.
Police began an investigation in September 2024, after an employee at a local technology repair company reported an unknown man who was believed to be in possession of child pornography images after his computer was dropped off for repair. Police seized the computer which contained approximately 3,600 photos of underage children.
On Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024, police executed a search warrant at a residence located in the 500 block of 20 Avenue S.W., where numerous electronic and storage devices were seized, and one man was arrested.
As a result, Fred Allison BEZANSON, 73, of Calgary, is charged with one count each of possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography.
He will next appear in court on Friday, Jan. 10, 2025.
The investigation is ongoing as police continue to review the significant amount of material seized.
