Police asking for help to identify young child

UPDATE: The family of this young girl was located the morning of Sunday, July 8, 2018. Both the girl and her family are safe. The Calgary Police Service would like to thank the media and public for thier assistance with this case.

The Calgary Police Service is asking for help to identify a child who was found on her own in the community of Dover.

At approximately 8:15 p.m., on Saturday, July 7, 2018, a young girl approached a woman working in her garage at a residence in the 2000 block of Dover Road S.E. The woman searched the immediate area with the girl to try locate the girl’s parents, but when no one recognized the child, the woman called police.

The child was in good health and is now in a safe place, however, police need to locate the young girl’s parents or legal guardian. The girl is too young to identify herself, so investigators are hoping someone will recognize her.

She is described as being approximately two or three years old, with brown eyes and brown hair. She was wearing a pink tank-top, pink pants, brown sandals with a blue strap, and a purple hair tie.
