Police arrest two suspects in relation to Tuesday’s homicide

The Calgary Police Homicide Unit has arrested two people in connection to a homicide that occurred earlier this week where a body was found at a busy intersection in the northeast.

At approximately 8:50 a.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020, we were called to the intersection of 36 Street N.E., and Memorial Drive, for reports that a man was found dead after exiting a vehicle, that was stopped at a red light. Police and EMS were dispatched, however the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man and a woman have been arrested in relation to the murder of David BAWDEN, 59, of Calgary. The names of the suspects will be released if charges are formally laid.

Investigators are on scene executing a search warrant in the 2600 block of 17 Street S.W. where a vehicle of interest believed to be connected to this incident was located and seized earlier today.

As the investigation is still ongoing, no further information will be released at this time.
