Pedestrian seriously injured in southeast collision
A 40-year-old man has sustained serious injuries following a collision in southeast Calgary yesterday.
At about 5:25 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, a black 2007 Cadillac Escalade, driven by a man in his 40s, was travelling southbound on Second Street S.E. approaching Southland Drive S.E., when it struck a pedestrian, who was crossing Second Street S.E. eastbound in an unmarked crosswalk.
The pedestrian, a 40-year-old man, was transported to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. The driver was not injured and remained at the scene.
Speed and impairment are not believed to be factors in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
