Pedestrian fatality involving downtown CTrain

A fatal collision occurred between a pedestrian and CTrain on Monday afternoon.

At approximately 3:20 p.m., Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, a man was on the 7 Street S.W. CTrain platform when he fell between the first and second cars of a westbound train. The train had been stationary and then started to move, dragging the victim a short distance.

The 32-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Excessive speed was not a factor in the collision. It is not known at this time if drugs or alcohol were factors.
