Pedestrian fatality involving CTrain

A fatal collision occurred between a pedestrian and CTrain on Sunday evening.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., Sunday, July 10, 2016, three men walked across the southbound lanes of the 3800 block of 36 Street N.E., onto the train tracks. The pedestrians failed to stop for the flashing lights and bell, warning of an approaching CTrain.

The first two pedestrians were able to make it across the tracks. A 49-year-old male was struck and pronounced deceased at the scene.

It is believed alcohol was a factor on behalf of the pedestrian.

No charges are anticipated against the driver.
