Pedestrian collision involving bus

We are asking for the public’s help into the investigation of a pedestrian collision that occurred earlier this week.

On Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a Calgary Transit bus was travelling west on 17 Avenue S.E., approaching the 36 Street Station. As the bus left the station, a 31-year-old woman ran along the platform in an attempt to get the driver to stop the bus.

At the west end of the platform, the woman fell to the ground and was run over by the rear axle of the bus.

The bus driver stopped at the 33 Street Station. No one aboard the bus was injured.

The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Neither alcohol nor drugs are considered factors in the collision.
