Pedestrian collision in city’s northwest

The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section is currently investigating a pedestrian collision that occurred in the community of Mount Pleasant.

At approximately 7 a.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, a newer model Ford F-150 truck driven by a man in his 50s was travelling southbound on 5 Street N.W. Upon arriving at the intersection of 26 Avenue N.W., the truck turned left from 5 Street onto 26 Avenue N.W., striking the pedestrian, a woman in her 50s.

The pedestrian suffered serious, life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision and was taken to hospital.

The driver of the truck was not injured. Alcohol, drugs and speed are not considered factors in this collision.
