Ongoing investigation into hit and run of pedestrian

The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section is seeking assistance from anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of a vehicle that drove into a driveway and pinned a pedestrian on Saturday.

Just after 2 a.m., on Saturday, March 26, 2022, witnesses report an altercation occurred involving three people on a sidewalk and driveway in the 5700 block of 2 Street S.W. An unknown person driving a Honda Accord pulled onto the driveway and struck one of the individuals, pinning him between the vehicle and a building wall. The Honda then drove across the driveway and back onto 2 Street S.W., before fleeing northbound on 2 Street and then westbound on 55 Avenue S.W.

The Honda was subsequently located abandoned in the 5700 block of 3 Street S.W. It is a green, 1996, four-door model and investigators believe there were three occupants, two men and one woman, at the time of the collision. All three occupants remain unaccounted for. Photos of the vehicle involved in the collision are available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

The 28-year-old pedestrian suffered severe injuries and was transported to hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition.
