One man dead after shooting in northwest

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is investigating a suspicious death in the community of Panorama.

Shortly after 12 a.m., today, Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, a witness near the 200 block of Panamount Way N.W. heard multiple gunshots and saw two vehicles, a dark coloured minivan, possibly a Dodge Caravan, and a dark coloured Mazda 3 sedan, flee the area.

When officers arrived they found a male suffering from gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of a white Dodge Charger. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

It is believed this is a targeted attack.

Investigators are currently interviewing several witnesses and canvassing for video surveillance from the area.

An autopsy is scheduled for this morning.
