One man charged, two wanted on warrants for sexual assault

The Calgary Police Service Sex Crimes Unit has charged three men in relation to a sexual assault that took place in September.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015, a woman in her 40s was leaving a bar in the 1800 block of 35 Street S.E. She was approached by a man who, against her will, pulled her into a white SUV that was parked outside of the bar. The woman was taken to a residence where she was sexually assaulted by three men. She was able to leave that location the next morning and contacted the police once she was safe.

Following a lengthy investigation, three men have been charged. One was taken into custody, while two remain outstanding and warrants have been issued for their arrest.

Jose Alfredo AGUILAR CRUZ, also known as Alfredo CRUZ, 38, has been charged with sexual assault. He will next appear in court on Monday, May 30, 2016.

Edvin Rolando CRUZ CERRATO, also known as Rolando CRUZ, 45, is wanted on Canada-wide warrants for sexual assault and kidnapping. He is described as Hispanic, approximately 160 pounds, 5’5” tall, with brown eyes and greying black hair. A photo of CRUZ CERRATO is available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

Berlin Noel VALLE BANEGAS, also known as Noel VALLE, 25, is wanted on Canada-wide warrants for sexual assault and kidnapping. He is described as Hispanic, approximately 170 pounds, 5’7” tall, with brown eyes and black hair. A photo of VALLE BANEGAS is available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

It is believed the men have been living in Calgary but may have ties to other parts of Canada and Honduras.
