Officer-involved shooting in Radisson Heights

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) is investigating after an officer-involved shooting that occurred late yesterday evening in southeast Calgary.

At approximately 10 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, we were called to the 1500 block of 35 Street S.E., by residents for reports of a man acting erratically and in possession of weapons.

Upon arrival, officers encountered the man, however, due to the rapidly changing dynamics, one officer discharged their Service weapon. The man was immediately given medical care by officers and EMS on scene and has since been transported to hospital in critical but stable condition.

No officers were injured during the incident.
