Officer-involved shooting – Sundance

The Calgary Police Service is currently at the scene of an officer-involved shooting in the community of Sundance.

At approximately 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, police were called to the 0-100 block of Sunmount Crescent S.E., after receiving a phone call from a residence in which screaming could be heard before the call was disconnected. Officers arrived to find an injured man outside the home. Police were confronted by a second man with a weapon in the detached garage of the residence. A Calgary police member fired their weapon and the man was struck. He was declared deceased on scene.

The injured man was taken to hospital in stable, non-life threatening condition.

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team has been notified.
