Officer-involved shooting - Monterey Park

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has been called in to investigate an officer-involved shooting that took place early this morning.

At approximately 2:45 a.m., on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, police responded to the 100 block of Laguna Close N.E., for reports of armed men at a residence.

Officers encountered three suspects fleeing the scene and a confrontation occurred resulting in one officer firing their Service weapon. The suspects continued to flee the area in a vehicle, however two were later taken into custody nearby. A third suspect remains outstanding.

No officers were injured during the incident.
