Officer-involved shooting - 20 Avenue and 35 Street S.E.

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has been called in to investigate an officer-involved shooting that took place this morning.

At approximately 6 a.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2019, an officer responded to a call at 20 Avenue and 35 Street S.E., for reports of a suspicious person wandering in and out of several backyards in the area.

The officer encountered an individual, a confrontation occurred at which time one individual was shot by police and transported to hospital in critical condition.

The officer required medical attention at the scene.
