Oakmoor Drive homicide investigation update

The identity of the man found in a vehicle by Revelstoke RCMP who later died has been confirmed and is believed to be connected to a 2017 Calgary homicide.

At approximately 4:45 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, police were called to a residence in the 2300 block of Oakmoor Drive S.W., after a man was found deceased inside the home by a family member. The victim was identified as Cyrus EBRAHIMI, 29, of Calgary. He died as a result of a shooting.

The following day, police requested public assistance to locate EBRAHIMI’s roommate, Mohammadali DARABI, 32.

On Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, Revelstoke RCMP members located a 2006 Toyota Corolla believed to be associated with DARABI. A man was found inside the vehicle and was later declared deceased at the scene, prompting an investigation into the incident. An autopsy identified the man as DARABI.

A forensic analysis of a firearm located in the Corolla was also conducted and was found to match the weapon used in the EBRAHIMI homicide.

Police believe this was a targeted incident and the investigation has concluded.
