Nominate an incredible Calgarian for the 2026 Calgary Awards

Nominations are now open for the 2026 Calgary Awards, inviting Calgarians to recognize the remarkable people and organizations shaping our community. From grassroots volunteers to city-building leaders, the awards highlight those whose efforts strengthen Calgary and enrich the lives of others.

“Our city is full of people and organizations whose work makes Calgary an incredible place to call home,” says Mayor Jeromy Farkas. "The Calgary Awards are an opportunity to celebrate their extraordinary contributions, and I encourage Calgarians to submit nominations for this year’s awards.”

The Calgary Awards pay tribute to Calgarians in five categories:

·       The W.O. Mitchell Book Prize (deadline was Dec. 1, 2025)

·       The Award for Accessibility – Universal Design

·       The Environment

·       International Achievement

·       Community Achievement:

o   Arts

o   Calgarian of the Year 

o   Community Advocate - Individual

o   Community Advocate - Organization

o   Education

o   Grant MacEwan Lifetime Achievement 

o   Heritage

o   Social Impact - Business 

o   Youth

The nomination period ends Jan. 25, 2026, and recipients will be announced at the Calgary Awards ceremony in June 2026.
