August photo enforcement locations

In response to community needs identified through statistical analysis, collisions, and citizen concerns, mobile photo radar will be set up on Crowchild Trail, Deerfoot Trail, Barlow Trail, Stoney Trail, Macleod Trail, Sarcee Trail and Glenmore Trail.

Photo radar will be focusing on the communities of Abbeydale, Acadia, Applewood Park, Aspen Woods, Auburn Bay, Beddington, Bonaventure, Bowness, Bridgeland/Riverside, Britannia, Calgary International Airport, Canyon Meadows, CFB Lincoln Park, Charleswood, Chinook Park, Citadel, Copperfield, Coral Springs, Country Hills, Coventry Hills, Cranston, Crescent Heights, Dalhousie, Discovery Ridge, East Fairview Industrial, East Shepard Industrial, Edgemont, Elboya, Erin Woods, Evergreen, Fairview, Falconridge, Forest Heights, Forest Lawn Industrial, Glamorgan, Glenbrook, Great Plains, Harvest Hills, Haysboro, Hidden Valley, Highwood, Hillhurst, Huntington Hills, Kingsland, Lake Bonavista, Lakeview, Manchester Industrial, Marlborough, Marlborough Park, Marlborough/Forest Heights, Martindale, Mayland Heights, Meadowlark Park, Monterey Park, Montgomery, Mount Pleasant, New Brighton, North Glenmore Park, North Haven, Oakridge, Ogden, Palliser, Parkdale, Patterson, Penbrook Meadows, Pineridge, Ranchlands, Renfrew, Rideau Park, Royal Oak, Rundle, Saddle Ridge, Scenic Acres, Shawnee Slopes, Shawnessy, Silver Springs, Skyview Ranch, South Foothills Industrial, Southwood, Springbank Hill, Strathcona, Sunalta/Beltline, Sunnyside, Thorncliffe, Tuscany, Upper Mount Royal, West Hillhurst, Westgate, Willow Park, Windsor Park, Winston Heights/Mountview, Woodbine, and Woodlands.

During the spring and summer months photo radar will also be providing support in construction zones on major high speed roadways.

As well as photo radar, there are 51 Intersection Safety Camera (ISC) locations throughout the city. These cameras can photograph vehicles entering the intersections during all phases of the signal, including red light infractions.

These cameras continue to reduce collisions and foster a safer driving environment at our intersections.

The speed on green initiative uses up to 28 of these ISC locations to capture vehicles that speed through green and yellow lights. Speeding fines reflect how fast you are travelling over the limit. Speeds in excess of 50 km/hr over the speed limit result in an appearance before a judge.

These drivers not only put themselves in danger, but they also endanger the lives of others.
