New Transit Watch text message tool: See something? Say something.

CALGARY, AB — Calgary Transit is improving its customer experience by giving customers the ability to discreetly report safety and security issues via text message.

As part of our Transit Watch program, customer can now text the issue to 74100 and communicate in real-time, 24/7, with Calgary Transit employees. All incoming text messages are handled with the same urgency as when a help phone is activated.

“Safety is a key element of our customer commitment,” says Doug Morgan, director of Calgary Transit. “We want to ensure our customers always feel safe whenever they ride with us and this new tool will continue to improve the safety and security of the Calgary Transit system.”

Immediate safety concerns include issues such as disorder on the CTrain, broken glass at a bus shelter or any other infrastructure issues that could pose a safety hazard. For general information like route or schedule inquires, customers should continue to use our app, website, Twitter or call us at 262-1000. All emergencies should still be reported to 9-1-1.

The Transit Watch program gives customers three options of reporting safety and security concerns: by calling 262-1000 option #1, help phones located on CTrains and stations and now, text.
